Project Overview
Eggenberger Automation was contracted to design and manufacture a door sub-assembly that is used on an imaging instrument to allow user access to load and unload well plates.
The Challenge
The client needed a user interface and a motor-driven mechanism to open and close the doors. Being that a user is involved, torque limiting was of concern. The doors also had to seal properly to be light tight.
Our Solution
The final product was mostly constructed from formed, stainless steel sheet metal. Assembly involved fine tuning of the door panels and specific mechanical adjustment to achieve proper alignment and light tight door closure.
